Introduction

Well this blog is for a math class... so yeah. Well you you must know I'm Michaela Bivins. I'm a junior at BTWHSPVA and I'm majoring in theater. I love it what can I say? :) And well I'm mixed white and hispanic, I can't speak spanish. My sisters are black and hispanic. My mom is mexican and well my dad was white... yes WAS... he died when I was four years old. yeah yeah yeah that's right about where the "sorry"s come in, well its okay... I moved on. So wow what to say what to say. God is my savior. My life wold not be the same without him.I want to go to Texas A&M and double major in Theater Arts and Psychology, or go to Harvard or Yale or princeton. I'm pretty set on Texas A&M though. I love my family I don't know my two brothers James and Andrew though I will meet them again one day....But enjoy life because time may go by slow but if you aren't spending it wisely , it goes by super fast and you may lose people that you never wanted to. LOVE LIFE LOVE PEACE AND LOVE GOD.

Math in Theater

So suprisingly there is alot of math in Theater. Like in Advanced Lighting, you need to know measurements of intruments and what degree they are and what angle you are going to hang them. And also what dimmer and channel you are going to put them on. There is math in costume construction. Alot of math...believe me. Anyways again there are measurements, you have to take someones measurements and sew their clothes. There are layouts of what you have to do. Plus if you are designing clothes you of course need different scales. Same with stage and set construction. The manly stuff that you build out of wood. There are measurements with that, the would and platforms like a 6 by 9 and so on. And lastly Acting and Mime the best part of it is that there is not much math but only the givens: How old are they? What year is it? How many people? and so on..... So there is math in theater! I guess some people never really think about it. I guess you can say math is everywhere and well it will never go away...
